Association History
Founded in 1992 and incorporated May 20, 1993, the Linganore High School Alumni Association, Inc, is designed to renew high school friendships and to support Linganore High School. Anyone who has attended or graduated from Linganore, along with faculty and staff who have served at Linganore are eligible for membership.
The first President was Karen Dotterer White, Class of 1970, who was instrumental in the 30th anniversary celebration of the dedication of Linganore, held at the school in December 1992.
Since our beginning, a group of dedicated alumni have continued to plan our annual dinner dance in the fall and the senior breakfast in late May. Along with the Libertytown-Unionville Lions, we help organize and support the annual Liberty Open Golf Tournament. With funds from this golf tournament, donations and other smaller fund raisers, we have established the Linganore High School Alumni Scholarship Fund with the Community Foundation of Frederick County.
In 2003, we partnered with the school to establish the Distinguished Graduate Organization. The Distinguished Graduate Awards are made annually in the fall at an assembly with the current freshman class of Linganore High School. It is always a day of inspiration and Lancer Pride.
